Backup & Disaster Recovery for Orange County Businesses
Ransomware, a failed server, a stolen laptop, a fire or simply the wrong file deleted: sooner or later every business needs to get data back. SimplifiedPC makes sure you can, with encrypted backups, off-site copies and a recovery plan that's been tested before you need it.
Having a backup isn't the same as being able to recover
Many businesses find out their backups don't work at the worst possible moment: the backup stopped running months ago, it was stored on the same server that failed, ransomware encrypted it along with everything else, or a full restore would take days the business can't afford.
We design backup and recovery around two questions: how much data can you afford to lose, and how long can you afford to be down. Then we build, monitor and test a setup that meets those answers, using proven platforms including Datto, Veeam and Hornetsecurity VM Backup (formerly Altaro).
Our backup & recovery services
Cloud Backup
Encrypted, off-site backup of your servers, computers and Microsoft 365 data, with predictable monthly pricing and daily monitoring.
Cloud backup →Disaster Recovery
Recovery planning, server and virtual machine image backup and replication, and tested procedures to get your business running again fast.
Disaster recovery →Built on the 3-2-1 backup rule
Every backup plan we design follows the industry-standard 3-2-1 approach:
- 3 copies of your important data: the original plus two backups
- 2 different types of storage, such as a local Synology NAS and the cloud
- 1 copy off-site, protected from fire, theft and ransomware on your network
Local backups give you fast restores for everyday problems. Off-site copies make sure a disaster at your office doesn't take your data with it.
What we protect
- Windows servers and file servers

“They did an excellent job setting up the network and backing all our data in a remote site. We trust them with keeping all the data secure.”
“They handle all our backups of very important patient records and we completely trust their expert recommendations.”
Backup and recovery for healthcare practices
The HIPAA Security Rule requires covered entities to have a data backup plan, a disaster recovery plan and an emergency mode operation plan for electronic protected health information. We help medical, dental and optometry practices put these in place with encrypted backups, retained history and documented recovery procedures.
Backup & disaster recovery FAQ
How do we know our backups are working?
We monitor backup jobs and fix failures as they happen, and we periodically test restores to confirm data can actually be recovered. You don't have to take it on faith.
Can backups protect us from ransomware?
Yes, if they're designed for it. Off-site copies, retained version history and protections against deletion mean that even if ransomware encrypts your network, clean copies of your data remain available to restore.
Doesn't Microsoft back up our Microsoft 365 data?
Microsoft keeps the service running, but deleted or overwritten data is only recoverable for a limited time. A separate backup protects you against accidental deletion, departing employees and ransomware.
Is backup included in managed IT plans?
Backup monitoring is part of our managed IT services. Cloud storage is priced separately based on how much data you protect.
